The Takura Forest

The Old Takura Temple in the Takura Forest. This Temple was the main Temple of Takura before the founding of Takurium.
The Takura Forest is one of the few places completely unaffected by Astarte's curse, This allowed the nearby city of Takurium to thrive as it had vast natural resources. When the city of Takurium was captured by the Astarts in 7,534 BX. It took the Astarts decades to conquer the forest as the locals engaged guerrilla warfare. The Jamesians and Astarts often battled for the forest as it changed owners again and again over the years.

A Takura Korkin village, most of the population of Takurium escaped when a knight of Ahura-Mazda organized a breakthrough operation that caused massive damage to the Astart army and stopped it dead in its tracks.
The Takura forest is mostly inhabited by Takura Korkins who migrated to the area following the Korkin conquest of Jamesia (called Zwotinyi by the Korkins and Yemeka by the Oxa natives) from the Yemeka Oxa around 33,000 BX. The Korkins drove out the Yemeka Oxa out of the Takura forest during the 2nd Yemeka war around 32,920 BX. Takura was a colonist who was able to turn herself into a deity without having to die first and became the guardian deity of forest.
